Students learn to count up to 100 using pictures. They develop skills to count forward and backward and to recognize even and odd numbers.
Students use the number line and hundreds chart as models to further improve their abilities to count.
Students learn to express numbers in words and also represent them with Roman numerals. They also learn to describe the position of an object in a given ordering.
Students learn to skip-count by 2s, 5s and 10s. They apply skip-counting to solve problems of sequences involving numbers and patterns. The skills mastered here will form the basis for multiplication.
